South Texas Vocational Technical Institute

Welding is the foundation of many industries—from construction to manufacturing. At STVT, you’ll train to work with metal in real-world environments using tools and techniques the pros use. Our Combination Welding program teaches essential techniques—including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)—while emphasizing safety, quality, and hands-on performance.

With our Electrical Program,* you can:
  • Train with instructors who’ve worked in welding and fabrication
  • Practice welding techniques on real equipment
  • Earn your diploma
  • Learn MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding
  • Be career ready by graduation

To help better prepare you for life after graduation, we expose you to Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation standards throughout our program! Training starts every five weeks, and night classes are available!
